The Lifeflow Learn to Meditate course
is offered regularly in Adelaide and provides a complete practical introduction to meditation and how to do it. We introduce a range of simple meditations: using
the breath, guided visualisation, movement and working with sound and
mantra. In every class we teach loosening and stretching exercises and
we include some light yoga exercises. We also teach you a range of short
'spot' mindfulness meditations that can be used anywhere - at work, home, or anywhere
in your daily life.
It is a practical course, building on what you learn week by week in a
fun and informative environment. You will find the meditations simple
to learn and easy to do. Each class runs for 1½ hours and is taught
in a jargon free manner. There are usually 10 to 15 students in each class.
No single meditation is right for everyone,
so you can try a number of different types at our courses. Meditation
can be practised by anyone, regardless of age or belief.
Meditation is usually done sitting in
a chair (so you don't have to sit cross-legged on the floor). Cushions
and meditation stools are supplied. Please wear comfortable clothing.
Up to four 7-week courses are run concurrently. If you miss your normal
class you can come to the same class at a different time in the same week.

What others have
said about our Learn to Meditate course...
I'm amazed at how practical it is - yesterday I was in a meeting room: the only woman waiting for several high-powered men to walk in. I had the Spot Meditation reminder card in my bag so I did the Instant Calm Breath and it made a huge difference. It really does work. Former student, Learn to Meditate course
The course helped me deal with panic attacks - & I'm extremely grateful - thankyou! Former student, Learn to Meditate course
I just got back from my meditation class…[and] am so impressed that I have offered everyone here a 7
week course on me. Danny , Principal Lawyer, legal firm in Adelaide
I have really enjoyed the course. I feel very relaxed when I leave. I particularly find the breathing meditations enable me to centre and eliminate distracting thoughts. I like the fact that there is no dogmatic single method... and the variety is probably suitable for me at different times... I use the spot meditations often particularly at work. Former student, Learn to Meditate course
[The teacher] was cool! Also very down to earth. David Norman, teenager
Experience a whole range of practical meditations - one will suit you.
All courses are led by highly qualified teachers - each teacher has at least 10 years personal meditation practice.
The course provides an ideal environment and the motivation needed to get started with meditation.
Who is it for
– prerequisites
This course is for anyone new to
meditation, or anyone with limited experience with meditation, or
anyone who is new to Lifeflow meditation.
Many people who have tried meditation at other centres or schools
have also benefited from coming to this course.
We have also found that students with significant prior experience
have found great benefit from starting with our Learn to Meditate course. This
has been in part due to the breadth of meditations covered plus the
depth of the teachers' knowledge. We recommend all newcomers to Lifeflow
to start with this course.
