Deepen your practice
This level links practice and theory in the same way as Learn to Meditate and Level 2, so that you gain the knowledge and understanding of the experiences that unfold as you build your meditation practice.
Our courses incorporate all three ways that you can use the versatile skill of meditation: for personal development, for therapeutic use, and for spiritual growth.
Everything taught at Lifeflow is based on the direct experience of meditation and so is readily accessible and immediately applicable to your life.
All of the classes are student centred and so involve interaction, discussion and practice.
They also include exercises adapted from yoga which enhance and sustain your meditation practice.
About the course
Western psychology is now discovering how important good feelings, being absorbed in our work and lives, and a good foundation of values and ethics, are for our emotional and mental health. Evidence-based research has discovered that these are the ingredients for establishing wellbeing, resilience and leading a fulfilling and meaningful life. The Lifeflow Centre teaches all of these through integration of the four streams of meditation tradition:
- Meditation for finding and holding your balance and being absorbed – being in the flow
- Mindfulness for keeping your balance in daily life
- Integration for creating good feelings and building emotional resilience
- Ethics for giving meaning to your life and viewing yourself in a larger context

How to attend this course
- Attend one of the In Person classes – Wednesdays at 7-8.30 pm or Thursdays 10-11.30 am
- Watch the live stream of the Wednesday In Person 7-8:30 pm class
- Watch a recording of the Wednesday In Person 7-8:30 pm class – recordings available for a limited time after each class.
If you are attending via live stream or class recording, then you will be able to email us any questions that you have. We’ll answer these questions in the following week.
The course is taught in self contained modules, each one being one term in length. The entire course is comprised of eight modules which are taught sequentially over two years. You may start in any term and continue for two years to cover the entire program. Find out more detail of what is in each term.
In addition, it is recommended that students complete at least one weekend retreat each year whilst attending Level 3. Refer to our section on Lifeflow retreats to find out what is scheduled.

This course is for students who have completed all three modules of the Level 2 course. We also recommend that you have completed at least one weekend retreat.
Level 3 is designed for students who have started or are just starting their own meditation practice. To get the most benefit from the classes it is recommended that you are practising meditation daily.
Lifeflow membership is recommended for students in Level 3. This gives you access to additional retreat opportunities, borrowing rights to our library plus access to additional members-only classes.
- Deepen your understanding of Lifeflow Meditation theory.
- The regular class format makes it easier to link your meditation experiences and understanding back to what is happening in the rest of your life. Learn how the two can affect each other and how meditation practice can be skillfully applied to life situations.
- All courses are led by highly qualified teachers – each teacher has at least ten years personal meditation practice.
The course is taught in self contained modules, each one being one term in length. The entire course is comprised of eight modules which are taught sequentially over two years. You may start in any term and continue for two years to cover the entire program. It is only a requirement to complete all eight modules if you wish to progress to Level 4.
Each module runs for 7 classes of 1.5 hours duration each.
We recommend that you complete at least one weekend (or longer) retreat per year of attendance at Level 3. See our Retreats page for details of what is scheduled.

If you are looking to go further with your meditation experience, then we recommend becoming a member of Lifeflow. This opens the door to a range of members-only classes and retreats, and provides the opportunity to build stronger connections with our teachers. It can provide a valuable support for anyone looking to practise meditation as a serious discipline.
Membership is not just ‘all or nothing’ – you can choose your level of involvement. You can come to the occasional members class or retreat, or dive right into our advanced retreats (held at Kurlana Mallee Sanctuary), or just maintain your annual subscription and borrowing rights to our library.
Because so many psychologists were attending our courses we were asked to seek endorsement with the Australian Psychological Society. The APS replied, ‘APS Members can accrue CPD points by participating in CPD activities they determine to be relevant to their individual professional skills, learning plans and goals. These do not need to be endorsed by the APS’. Applicable to Lifeflow courses and retreats.
It is your responsibility to attend the classes as scheduled. If you cancel your booking five clear working days before the course starts, we will give you a full refund less a $25 admin fee. We cannot provide a refund after this time unless the course is cancelled, in which case a full refund will be given.
