To ensure that all participants have a thorough understanding of the basic theory and are confident in their delivery of the meditation exercises taught, an important component of this course is evaluation. The evaluation will cover both theoretical and practical components of the course.

Prerequisite

This training assumes, and builds on, the theoretical knowledge and meditation practices taught in our Learn to Meditate course.

Even people with years of experience in other kinds of meditation find this essential to gain the most from the Teacher Training as the Learn to Meditate course introduces a broad range of techniques and the theory supporting meditation.

Consequently, completion of this course is a prerequisite for participation in the Mindfulness Meditation – Teacher Training Level 1 course.

Two options to complete Learn to Meditate:

Either completion of an in person Learn to Meditate course
OR
completion of Learn to Meditate on-demand online and a 1 x 1 hour mentor session.

Assessment

  • Throughout the course feedback will be given as you learn to guide meditations both in small groups and with the whole group.
  • At the last session you will be required to lead the group in a meditation.

The theory assessment consists of a short written evaluation comprising a series of questions, each one requiring a paragraph answer. The theory assessment will be handed out in week three.

Once you have fulfilled the requirements of the course you will be awarded Certificate in Mindfulness Meditation – Teacher Training Level 1

Successful completion of this course forms a core element of qualifying for Provisional Membership of the Meditation Association of Australia. See below for further details.
