Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Level 2

Welcome to the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Level 2 course!

Are you ready to take your knowledge and skills to the next level!?

We are excited about our Level 2 course coming up on the weekend of 4-5 November (in-person or via livestream) and would love you to join us. We have some NEW elements this year.

With a focus on meditation and mindfulness as therapeutic tools, Level 2 will provide a broader range of techniques to guide your clients towards a deeper experience of meditation. It will also enhance your confidence and abilities in guiding sessions, along with more on self-care to avoid burnout.

This year we have also added a new section exploring the fascinating history of meditation practice and philosophies, along with the use of meditation in complementary forms.

If you are keen to qualify for provisional membership of the national peak body Meditation Australia, completion of this Level 2 course is a core element. See below for further information.

Led by John Burston, with teachers Gretta Koch and Ian Nuberg joining, this is an in-depth and high-quality training course in a fun, supportive and creative environment. We are very responsive to individual requirements, to ensure you get what you need.

Course structure

Over a weekend, this course will take you on a journey of deepening your knowledge and skills in mindfulness meditation teaching. Starting with a revision of core material from Mindfulness Meditation – Level 1, the course will further develop your understanding of how meditation and mindfulness can be applied within different contexts.

Day 1 - Saturday

  • Introduction to the course and key concepts.
  • An in-depth examination of mindfulness and its various applications.
  • The use of suggestion in guiding meditation, including pitfalls to be aware of.
  • Introducing new meditation exercises to add to your teaching repertoire.

Day 2 - Sunday

  • Reflecting on what has worked and what hasn’t when guiding meditations.
  • Understanding contraindications and how to protect your clients.
  • Exploring history of meditation practice and philosophy and complementary forms.
  • Further, develop your understanding of the importance of self-care and group care in teaching meditation.

Assessment

Assessment is a crucial part of the learning process in this course. During the training, you will have the opportunity to apply your newly acquired skills by revising a poorly worded meditation text. This exercise will require you to demonstrate your understanding of appropriate suggestions used in guiding meditation by submitting a re-worded meditation text.

To complete this assessment project we ask that you also submit an audio recording of you delivering your re-worded meditation. (This can be easily achieved with a smart phone and instructions on how to do this will form part of the course material.) We ask that the meditation is no longer than 10 minutes from start to finish.

You will also prepare a two-minute audio presentation summarising your learnings on meditation history/philosophies from various texts, OR on meditation in complementary forms. This will be explained in detail during the course.

We understand that time is valuable, which is why we provide you with 21 working days from the completion of the course to submit your project. Our team will then provide written feedback within three weeks of receiving your project.

Upon successful completion of the assessment, you will be awarded a Mindfulness Meditation – Teacher Training Level 2 certification. This recognition will serve as a testament to your hard work and dedication in honing your meditation teaching skills.
