What a Lifeflow retreat isn’t ...
We want to reassure you that our retreats are not ‘hard’ or ‘uncomfortable’ – you won’t have to sit cross legged, alone with your thoughts, for hours on end.
You don’t have to spend the entire time meditating or have any prior experience with meditation.
You don’t have to eat bland, boring food or give up your coffee either!
The benefits of a meditation retreat …
A meditation retreat gives you the time to focus on you, a chance to relax, unplug and take a break from all of your commitments in a space that is dedicated to your wellbeing.
- It is much more than a holiday… have you ever come back from a holiday more exhausted than when you left? A retreat is different, it is specifically designed for you to rest completely and recharge your energy.
- A retreat provides a chance for you to get back in touch with your own needs, leaving your everyday worries behind, and slow down your busy mind with meditation.
- Your body and mind get the rare chance to relax completely with a combination of guided meditation, deep relaxation, gentle yoga and spending time in nature.
- With expert guidance, you are set up to experience the profound peace of deeper meditation – opening to solitude, quiet, and with none of your day-to-day pressures.
- Everything is taken care of including delicious food (no dishes), comfortable private accommodation, guided meditations, deep relaxation, gentle yoga and meditation theory sessions taught by experienced teachers – all to allow you to relax completely.
- If you already meditate, your meditation practice and experience will be taken to another level.
- If you are new to meditation you will have the luxury of learning the basics of meditation in the perfect environment – with the guidance of an expert teacher.
- You’ll have professional teachers on hand to check your experiences and ask questions relating to your personal situation or level of meditation experience.
And there are more benefits …
- The chance to look within yourself – to work through uncomfortable emotions and come to terms with what’s happening in your life.
- Use mindful activities to bring you back to the beautiful sensory experience of being in your body instead of being in your head, thinking constantly.
- Experience the simple pleasure of being in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
- Get away from the scrolling, phones, screens and emails – recharge and sooth a frazzled nervous system.
‘A special and enriching experience, easily one of the most important things I have done for myself.’
– Suzie M
What happens on a Lifeflow meditation retreat?
On a retreat you will get the opportunity to immerse yourself in the experience of spending time in the beautiful natural environment at Tara Hills retreat centre.
You’ll get a break from everyday pressures like stress, technology, constantly being ‘on’, doing and thinking about things all the time!
- Be completely looked after by experienced meditation teachers and they will lead you in meditation theory classes that are always insightful and stimulating – you will always come away with another deeper perspective.
- Our teachers are also on hand to check in about your meditation experiences and lovingly guide you about your inner experience.
- You’ll have your choice of a comfortable private room that includes options with ensuite and King Single or Queen sized beds, with views of the gum trees of Native Valley or the landscaped garden.
- Daily gentle yoga classes are optional and provide the opportunity to move your body and stretch your muscles to release the build up tension.
- Guided deep relaxation sessions in the day and before going to bed will help you with sleep and letting go of the stress that builds up over time.
- Our retreats, while not completely silent, keep talking to a minimum, so there is no need for small talk and you can focus on your own inner experience.
- There is plenty of free time for sleeping in, napping in the afternoons, long walks along quiet country roads, resting or meditating in nature or in your comfortable room.
- Delicious vegetarian meals and snacks are provided – with no dishes to do – so you can eat at your own pace enjoying the sensory experience of eating mindfully.
- It is no wonder so many people keep coming back to our retreats to deepen their practice, to rest their minds and bodies and also keep recommending us to others.
“Through teaching on retreats, I have witnessed mini-miracles as people come to realisations about their lives, let go of things that have burdened them for years and walk through pain or discomfort to a completely different perspective.”
Gretta Koch – Lifeflow teacher and retreat leader

Do I need previous experience?
No. Our meditation retreats are suitable for anyone who has a desire to relax, recharge and get away from the busy day to day life – no previous meditation or retreat experience is required.
If you’ve been thinking about trying meditation and want to “hit the ground running”, a retreat may be just the thing that you’re looking for.
Alternatively, if you’ve been meditating for a while now and want to take your meditation practice to the next level, one of our more advanced retreats could be the solution for you.
Finally, if you’ve done a retreat before and simply loved the experience, we’d love to see you back!
Most retreats are held in the restorative natural surrounds of Lifeflow’s purpose-built Tara Hills Retreat Centre, just a 45 minute drive from Adelaide. We also run selected retreats at the Lifeflow Studio in Frewville.
