Enjoy a relaxing weekend away in a beautiful country setting – time to top up your energy, space for some new perspectives and learn practical mindfulness and meditation skills you can easily apply to family life, caring for children or for those working with children.
Lifeflow teacher and busy mother of two Nicole Powell will facilitate the weekend sharing simple and practical tips she’s developed through her extensive years of meditation training and bringing up two young daughters – all in an enjoyable and nurturing environment.
We’ll explore the value of self-care and you can experience firsthand the benefit of some mindful time out. You’ll learn practical skills to keep your calm on those days when your buttons are being pushed; ideas for work/life balance and learn how to work with emotions that can arise when work and family demands compete with each other. You’ll also learn simple mindfulness exercises that the kids can join in with as well.
The weekend is fully catered, leaving you free to relax, unwind and feel nourished. Alongside the sessions with Nicole there are guided meditation sessions, gentle yoga classes, deep relaxation sessions, time for walks and space to chill out.

- Guidance throughout each day in retreat. There are normally 4–5 guided yoga and meditation sessions per day in retreat.
- Retreat handout with a summary of the theory being presented.
- All meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner; includes snacks in between meals. We serve delicious, fresh, healthy, mostly vegetarian food. (If you have any special food requirements, eg gluten-free, lactose intolerance etc, please bring any additional items you may need; soy milk is provided.)
- All accommodation at Tara Hills Retreat Centre - choose from either an ensuite room (single or double) or a standard single room (with optional linen service).
- Highly qualified teachers are on every retreat - you can check your yoga and meditation experiences and get some guidance during the retreat.

There are 10 Standard single rooms. Each room has a good quality single bed, storage cupboard, plus a heater and fan. The building is very well insulated, and is pleasant throughout the year. Our new architecturally designed accommodation building, in use from June 2015, features four rooms (either single or double) all with lovely north facing views across the valley and their own en suite facilities.

What experience do I need?
No prior yoga, meditation or retreat experience is required to attend this retreat. You will be guided by a team of experienced teachers who can help answer any questions that may arise during the retreat. All meditation sessions are guided and there is a theory class each day to support the understanding of the practical sessions.
What do I need to bring?
When you book into a retreat we'll send you a map of directions to Tara Hills and a summary of what to bring (in short: if you are staying in an Ensuite room or a Standard room with linen service, then you just need to bring some comfortable clothing and toiletries. If you are staying in a Standard room with no linen service then please bring bedding as well). Everything else is provided. When you book into a retreat we'll send you a map of directions to Tara Hills. It's about a 45 minute drive from Adelaide, just past Nairne in the Adelaide Hills.
