Advanced meditation

Luminosity of form

Sunday 14 March
11 am–12.30 pm
Tara Hills Retreat Centre

This meditation is for cultivating a quality of mind which sees all form as transparent and luminous. It links in with the exercises used in Yoga-Tantra, and is for keeping your mind flexible and open. Everything in life is constantly changing; by holding to the luminosity of form you can learn to stay with what is happening rather than getting weighed down with hopes or expectations.

luminosity of form advanced meditation

At our advanced meditation sessions we offer an experience that engages all of your senses – sight, touch, sound, smell and taste – it gives a far more powerful experience than what we can offer in the Lifeflow Studio in the city. The visualisation will be accompanied with a mantra (a series of words that are repeated, bringing an aural component to the meditation) which, once learnt, can be used to easily bring back the feeling of the meditation.

A shared meal follows the visualisation.

Into the light

Taking the doorway to depth, self-acceptance and love.

FULLY BOOKED

A talk by Ingrid Lienert on 11 years of meditation practice and retreat work.

Sunday 6 June
11 am–12.30 pm
Lifeflow Studio
(Please note venue change for this seminar)

‘Meditation is a commitment to the inner life and to experiencing things as they are – to truth. It’s a decision to face yourself and to wrangle (sometimes forever) some pretty fierce emotions, but also to dance with the peaceful ones.

It has taught me compassion, patience, my own wild nature and probably the most useful thing has been how to breathe in the beauty of life and distil gifts out of the pain… often at the same time’.

Ingrid is a Lifeflow member, editor and teaches English at the University of Adelaide.

Advanced meditation

Sunday 12 September
11 am–12.30 pm
Tara Hills Retreat Centre

Embraced by Nature

This visualisation is for cultivating an awareness of our fundamental connection with the environment. Instead of seeing the environment as something out there, you develop the feeling of being embedded in the natural world.

General information

These seminars, forums and Advanced visualisations provide a great opportunity to meet other Lifeflow members. Most are free, and open to all members.

Each session includes a guided meditation. After each session there will be:

  • a share lunch in our beautiful Dining Hall – please bring a plate to share;
  • time to soak up the ambience of Tara Hills and the surrounding countryside;
  • and time to meet with other members of the Centre.

Bring a hat and walking shoes too if you’d like to take advantage of the walks in and around Tara Hills.

About members' seminars

These seminars have been set up to provide an opportunity for members to share their experiences of meditation and its integration into everyday life. All members are encouraged to attend, to ask questions and gain some insights from fellow meditators’ experiences. Each seminar is presented by a member of the Centre, who may or may not be a teacher – so it’s a great way to hear about meditation from a variety of perspectives.

Each seminar is free for all Lifeflow members.

About Advanced meditation sessions

Each half-year, one of a series of 12 advanced meditations are held at Tara Hills. These meditations, with their mantras, can help you to become more familiar with different kinds of healthy emotional states. Through practice you can develop these states, and learn to access them at will.

For a detailed introduction of Advanced Meditations read more in this article.

Payment for this session:
Free for current Members.

These sessions also provide a great opportunity to connect with a broader community of meditators.
