A Lifeflow Retreat is the perfect antidote to looking after everyone else … You won’t need to do anything but relax and restore – fully catered with delicious healthy meals and snacks, single private rooms, guided meditation and relaxation classes. There’s time for rest and soaking up the countryside on gentle walks nearby. Think sleep-ins and quiet cuppas outside …

Take time out and reconnect with yourself again.

Each teacher has at least ten years of individual meditation training, including many months of advanced retreat practice. They have all been trained in guiding meditations and leading courses and retreats for people from all walks of life. In all Lifeflow Retreats we practise techniques that are useful in the retreat situation and can also be applied to everyday life. We aim to teach in a way that lets you link the experiences and understanding of Lifeflow Meditation throughout your life.

There are 10 Standard single rooms. Each room has a good quality single bed, storage cupboard, plus a heater and fan. The building is very well insulated, and is pleasant throughout the year. Our new architecturally designed accommodation building, in use from June 2015, features four rooms (either single or double) all with lovely north facing views across the valley and their own en suite facilities. All meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner; includes snacks in between meals. We serve delicious, fresh, healthy, mostly vegetarian food. (If you have any special food requirements, eg gluten-free, lactose intolerance etc, please bring any additional items you may need; soy milk is provided.)

  • Early Bird discount: book and pay four weeks before the retreat starts and get a 10% discount. (Six weeks for 7-day retreat)
  • Members receive a 10% discount off the full fee for public retreats and courses. Refer to our Membership page for full details. Member discount is not valid in conjunction with Early Bird discount.

Tara Hills is the principal retreat centre for the Lifeflow Meditation Centre. It is set amongst the rolling hills, large gum trees and abundant bird life of peaceful Native Valley. It provides an ideal space for retreats: here you can open your senses to brilliant night sky, fresh air and expansive views that can be enjoyed from the property. It’s easy to get to, yet it provides the seclusion of being in a quiet corner of the countryside. It’s about a 45 minute drive from Adelaide, just past Nairne in the Adelaide Hills. The deeper knowledge underpinning these tools forms a core part of this course, ensuring you are skillful in applying them within a therapeutic context.

Mindfulness Meditation training for School teachers

Designed specifically for groups of primary and/or secondary school teachers, this training provides you with the skills to guide meditation and mindfulness within a school setting. The techniques taught enable students to experience a calm and balanced state they can access quickly and easily, helping them with their physical, emotional and mental well-being.

You can enrol during office hours with cash or credit card. Mon–Thurs between 9:30 am–4:30 pm. Please bring your completed enrolment form with you when paying.

Places are limited so please enrol and make your payment early to avoid disappointment.

Bookings, cancellations and refunds policy – Certificate in Meditation training courses

  • Bookings close 14 days prior to the course starting – book soon to secure your place.
  • A $50 administration fee applies to all refunds given for any reason. Please direct cancellations and requests for refunds in writing to info@lifeflow.com.au
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the course starting unless we are able to fill the vacancy created by the cancellation, in which event the $50 administration fee will apply.
  • Lifeflow Meditation Centre reserves the right to cancel a course that does not have sufficient numbers, or in the event of unforeseen circumstances. An alternative course or full refund will be offered.

Evidence-based research has discovered the ingredients for establishing wellbeing, resilience and leading a fulfilling and meaningful life. Explore these in detail over a series of eight modules. Be supported as you learn to integrate this knowledge and related practical tools into your daily life.

Combining the complementary aspects of Eastern and Western culture in a uniquely Australian, approachable and jargon free curriculum. Study in depth the highest levels of philosophy, psychology and meditation practice derived from the Buddhist tradition, combined with the philosophical and psychological knowledge of Western culture.

class format

This beginners how to meditate course builds on what you learn from week to week in a relaxed, informal environment. There are usually about 10–15 students in each class.

Classes are offered in 3 different formats, so you can choose an option that fits with your schedule.

  • 6 week course
    Six classes, once per week, each of 1½ hours’ duration.
  • Weekend Sunday course
    Two classes over two consecutive Sunday mornings, each class 3½ hours’ duration. Morning tea is included. Currently running in April and November.
  • Summer School course
    Six classes, twice per week (Mon and Tues pm), each class 1½ hours’ duration. Runs yearly in early January.
