Beyond the quick fix
… building skills for lifelong growth
3-day non-residential retreat
9.30 am – 4 pm, Wednesday 29 December – Friday 31 December
Do you often want the easy answer to lifelong issues … the quick fix?
You can use meditation that way, but it’s far better to build skills that last the distance and can give you sustainable lifelong growth, long after your New Year resolution has been forgotten.
It’s about starting with smaller moves and building confidence with them, so that you can tackle the big questions more skilfully when you are ready.
This rests on developing a meditation practice that lasts the distance – something that you can always come back to.
It’s like building a deep and trusting friendship – it takes time to mature, but when it does it is strong and true.
On this retreat we’ll focus on skills and attributes that underpin any lifelong meditation practice. This includes essential qualities, or values, plus deep contemplations that help to orient us to what is truly valuable in your life.
The retreat day will begin at 9:30 am so you can still enjoy a holiday sleep-in if you need this. We will finish the retreat day at 4 pm giving you plenty of time to enjoy the late summer afternoon, continuing with informal retreat practices if your life allows this.
You will be completely looked after, and everything will be taken care of including delicious vegetarian lunch and morning tea each day.
Along with the retreat theory, there will be daily guided meditation sessions, gentle yoga classes and plenty of time for deep relaxation.
A great way to prepare for a fresh start in 2022!

This retreat is best suited to people who have some prior meditation experience. No prior retreat experiences is necessary – in fact, this retreat can be a great starting point for anyone new to them.
If you have no prior meditation, yoga or retreat experience then please check in with us – you may still get a lot out of attending.
You will be guided by experienced teachers who can help answer any questions that may arise during the retreat. All meditation sessions are guided and there are theory classes each day to support the understanding of the practical sessions.
We suggest that you wear comfortable clothing – for the meditations you can be sitting on a chair, using a stool, or even lying down on a mat.
Our studio is air-conditioned, so you may like to bring an additional layer to put on if the air temperature is too cool for you.
There will be a gentle Yoga session, so please wear clothing that will be comfortable for exercising. There is space for getting changed if you would like to bring a change of clothes for the yoga session. You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat and bolster if you have them.
Optional: if you like to take notes then bring a pen and notepad. And you are welcome to bring your own water bottle.
