Coming to your senses
– connecting with nature
7 pm Friday 26 March – 2 pm Sunday 28 March
Tara Hills Retreat Centre
Feeling a connection to nature is a deep human need and brings with it an abiding sense of calm. Have you ever noticed how modern society can take away the sense of connection to the land where we live?
City environments, the constant drip feed of technology, sourcing our food in plastic at the supermarket… not only does it affect our own wellbeing but as a society we can lose conscious respect for our dependence on the earth.
Time on retreat helps to restore this depth to our being, and on this weekend we will explore how we can open to this fully through meditation and contact with nature.
This relationship is something that is understood profoundly by the indigenous cultures of Australia. Our retreat centre stands on land of the Peramangk people , and this weekend we will have the honour of being joined by renowned Peramangk and Kaurna elder Ivan Copley, who will share this perspective with us.
The skills of meditation and mindfulness can then help us carry this richness through our daily life and into our relationship to the planet.
